As students we learn about the setting reaction, pros and cons and working times of alginate.
We even get a chance to practice mixing it a little before getting let loose on our first patients. I am sure they feel like they have been through the mill after our 7th, 8th and 9th try at getting an acceptable impression for any lab work.
So I teamed up with Mr Stephen Davies for his hints and tips for taking full upper and lower alginate impressions.
I tried this on clinic on Friday and the results were great. I felt much more in control and the impressions were pretty good.
Hope these help.
